Camping Rules

Cotswold Sailing Club Camping Rules

Members and members’ guests may camp and caravan at Cotswold Sailing Club (CSC) to support members’ use of the lake and sailing facilities, provided that members and their guests abide by the following rules:

To ensure the continued enjoyment of the club’s camping facility, any members that do not adhere to these rules may be given a warning or asked to leave the camping site. The committee will then determine whether any other action is required. Members are reminded that they are responsible for their guests’ behaviour and adherence to these camping rules.

  1. Please record all camping via the camping portal or by contacting the camping coordinator.
  2. Members and their guests must not camp or caravan on designated non-camping nights 
  3. Care should be taken not to damage the site or the surrounding locality. Trees, fences, buildings, wildlife, equipment and other members’ boats and property should all be respected.
  4. One guest comprising of 2 adults plus children are allowed per unit on 3 separate occasions of 4 nights in any one calendar year and subject to the fees at the time, or that are subject to a separate agreement. Collection of these fees and payment to the club is the responsibility of the member. Members may not give guests the gate number to access the clubhouse or open/close gates. Guests may not stay overnight without a member. 
  5. Members may apply to the camping coordinator to host more than two adults and/or their children at any time, other than during the Regatta (which has separate rules that are published in the run up to the Regatta). Approval is at the discretion of the camping coordinator. Such approval will only be for a maximum of 4 nights and cannot exceed three occasions.
  6. Children (i.e. anyone aged 17 years or less) listed on a primary membership may camp without a member over the age of 18 year of age only with the permission of the camping coordinator.
  7. Camping is only allowed within the designated camping areas, highlighted in green on the attached map.
  8. Each stay is limited to 14 continuous days
  9. Observe the rules of the road and keep to the main tracks. Do not drink and drive.
  10. Observe the Country Code.
  11. Keep to the speed limit of 5mph.
  12. Always keep dogs under control. Dogs must be kept on a lead between the main gates, in front of clubhouse and to the end of the public footpath past the clubhouse.
  13. Place all dog poo in a poo bin or general waste skip, and NOT in the recycling.
  14. Respect other members and their pitches /designated area, and keep nose, including sound levels of audio equipment, to a minimum
  15. All units are to be parked or erected a minimum of 3 meters from neighbouring units. The extremity is to include parked vehicles, awnings, and pup tents.
  16. A one gallon minimum, filled fire bucket or extinguisher must be placed on the A frame of caravans and by the front left-hand side of all other units.
  17. Use cooking devices in appropriate designed positions.
  18. Site open flame fires/devices in a safe position and keep to an appropriate size and level to protect adjacent units.
  19. Free standing fires/appliances are allowed. 
  20. Grey water and spent cold ashes with small solids can be discharged along the hedge row. Grey water must not be allowed to enter the lake.
  21. All refuse is either taken home or disposed of in accordance with the club’s on-site arrangements. Please be prepared to take your rubbish home wit you if the bins are full. 
  22. Units may not be left unattended overnight. The only exception to this is if there is an emergency, or for specific exceptional circumstances which have been pre-approved by the camping coordinator. In such circumstances, no unit may be left unattended for more than one night and the unit’s owner must nominate a responsible adult who is staying overnight in another unit to be responsible for the unattended unit.
